Meet the Maker
My approach to woodworking is grounded in a simple philosophy: furniture should be as resilient as it is beautiful. Trained at the Seattle Central Wood Technology Program, and studied chair making in Japan, I blend the structural integrity of traditional Japanese joinery with the quiet, functional elegance of Nordic design.
I work with hand tools, and often highlight the joinery as a physical manifestation of a solved problem, revealing the mechanical connections and honouring the strength of the wood. I hand-plane surfaces that invite the touch and leave a fiber-level sheen that no sandpaper can replicate. My designs are considerate of changing nature of light, so I add textures, reveals, and shadow lines that respond to the changing light throughout the day and over seasons.
Whether it’s a custom built-in or a freestanding heirloom, my goal is to create pieces that breathe, age gracefully, and become a permanent, beloved part of your daily life.
